Reconstruction of a Railway

8th September 2001 to 25th October 2009

In 2008, it was agreed that redoubling of sections of the Oxford to Worcester line, mainly from Moreton-in-the-Marsh to Evesham, would be undertaken during 2009 and 2010. This collection aims to document this process, across several locations in the Evesham area.

The first stage took place early in 2009, with a mass clearance of lineside vegetation. This created some new views for photography, especially in Offenham Cutting.

The second stage began on the 18th July 2009, with the line being closed for re-alignment to permit a second track to be laid. This was completed over the next six weeks, with the line re-opening at the end of August.

The third stage, re-installing the second line, and re-signalling is scheduled for 2010.
