This is one of the best photographs I've ever taken at a safari park, and I'm still not 100% certain how I managed it. You have to bear in mind I was probably at the higher end of the lens, shooting past my passenger in the car, and through a chain-link fence (I'm not sure whether the window was down or not). However, the low depth-of-field on the shot has effectively removed the fence and I managed to avoid my passenger moving into the shot.
Taken with the Minolta Dynax 505si and 70-300mm lens, using Fujicolor Superia ISO 400 film on the 8th October, 2006, at the West Midland Safari Park.
This photograph was featured on the Fotopic front page on the 8th February, 2008, and was the first photograph to receive this honour.
