Midland Railway class 4P no. 1000 at the Engine House, Highley, Severn Valley Railway, on the 29th December, 2008. This locomotive is on loan from the National Railway Museum.
This was my second visit of 2008, a visit prompted partially by guilt over not visiting in 2007 (mainly because of the flooding), and partially by the disasterous first attempt at photographing the Engine House exhibits in May 2008, caused by using too low a speed film in the Minolta. In this instance I used a high ISO setting and a more powerful flashgun (a present for Christmas 2008). The results were better, but still required some work with PSP. Of the photographs I took of 1000 from this angle, this was the one that needed the least work with PSP, although I just clipped off the very the top of the chimney. Oh well, there's always next time.
ISO 800, 1/60sec, F5.6, 18mm
PSP modified to brighten image and remove noise.
