LMS 5F "Crab" class no 42765 at Kidderminster, Severn Valley Railway" on the 21st September, 2001, during the autumn gala. This was the first time I had been to an SVR gala; I had been tempted by the prospect of riding behind 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland". However, the first locomotive I travelled behind that day was the "Crab", which I travelled behind from Kidderminster to Hampton Loade, where I swapped to the "Duchess " for the remainder of the day. This shot was taken in the late afternoon as the locomotive arrived back at Kidderminster.

Taken with the Minolta Dynax 505si using a 70-300mm lens, tripod, and Fujicolor Superia ISO 400 film.

This is the third version of this photograph on this site. I've modified it again in PSP to reduce noise, remove some dust blemishes and alter the colour balance slightly to "warm" it. I've done this for a possible exhibition which I hope to be able to go more detail at a later date.
